Irish Medtech Skillnet, in collaboration with the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick, offers a Certificate in Global Trade Compliance (NFQ Level 7). It was developed for employees who aspire to consolidate their existing operational experience and gain a formal global trade qualification. This Level 7, one-year, part-time programme is delivered fully online and provides practical knowledge and skills needed for today’s complex global trade environment.This programme is specifically tailored by industry experts to fill the skills gap created by an explosion in demand for certified expertise in Ireland and Northern Ireland since Brexit. On completion, you will have an internationally recognised qualification that will open new career possibilities and will increase your abilities and confidence in designing, planning, and managing complex international supply chains.

Learning Content
Following the completion of the Programme, the attendees should:- Have the tools and knowledge necessary to understand the concepts, approach and constantly changing trade compliance environment.
- Be able to interpret regulations for importation into different markets and understand their implications to their business.
- Understand the regulations for each market and be able to generate required documentation to comply.
- Understand how to stay up to date on changes to these regulations.
- Understand the impacts of non-compliance with these regulations.
- Be able to interpret, synthesise and integrate core aspects of exportation and importation associated compliance issues and important processing parameters with a view to problem solving and making regulatory decisions in a timely and competent manner.
Delivery is through weekly online lectures supported by tutor facilitated interactive workshops and additional self directed online learning by the participant and assessed through continuous assessment.

Explore major import and export security controls and understand compliance obligations within the EU and internationally.

Learn the foundations of customs controls, including the legislative basis and compliance mechanisms required for EU import and export.
